SAE 100R17 | Hydraulic Hose

Tube: Oil resistant synthetic rubber

Reinforcement: one high tensile steel wire braid

Cover: Oil, abrasion and weather resistant synthetic rubber, Wrapped/Smooth cover

Temperature range: -40°C to +100°C (-55°C to +100°C, intermittent 120°C)

Application: Petroleum-based hydraulic fluid, gasoline, water, diesel fuels, lubricating oils, glycol, mineral oils, and more.

The Kingdaflex SAE 100R17 hydraulic hose is the modern standard for simplified hydraulic systems. Unlike traditional R1/R2 hoses where pressure ratings drop as the size increases, our R17 series maintains a Constant Working Pressure of 3,000 PSI (210 Bar) across all sizes from 1/4″ to 1″. This consistency simplifies hose selection and inventory management. Additionally, it features a compact design with a bend radius similar to SAE 100R16 (half that of R2AT), making it perfect for tight routing.

Why Choose SAE 100R17?

  • Constant Pressure: Whether you use a 1/4″ hose or a 1″ hose, the working pressure is always 210 Bar. No more guessing games.
  • Compact & Flexible: It is significantly thinner and more flexible than standard R2AT hoses, ideal for routing through narrow boom arms and chassis.
  • Simplified Inventory: One hose type can replace multiple standard hoses (like R1AT and R2AT) in many 3000 PSI applications.

Applications of SAE 100R17

  • General Hydraulics: The go-to hose for general purpose medium-pressure lines requiring 3000 PSI.
  • Construction Equipment: Excavators, backhoes, and skid steers.
  • Agricultural Machinery: Harvesters and tractors where routing space is limited.
  • Material Handling: Forklifts and cranes.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between SAE 100R17 and SAE 100R16?

A: Both are compact hoses with a 1/2 bend radius. The main difference is the pressure rating. SAE 100R17 has a constant 3000 PSI pressure for all sizes. SAE 100R16 has variable pressures (higher for small sizes, lower for large sizes) matching R2AT ratings.

Q: How many wire braids does SAE 100R17 have?

A: It depends on the size. Typically, 1/4″ and 3/8″ sizes use one wire braid, while 1/2″ and larger use two wire braids to maintain the 3000 PSI rating. However, the external dimensions remain compact regardless of the wire count.

Q: Can I use R17 to replace R2AT?

A: Yes, as long as your system pressure does not exceed 3000 PSI. R17 is lighter, more flexible, and easier to install than 100R2AT hose.
